As a Director on the Nonprofits team, Camila supports nonprofits in the social service, arts & culture, and health fields in achieving their budgetary, legislative, and advocacy goals.
Prior to joining Kasirer, Camila served as the Manager of Policy & Advocacy at God’s Love We Deliver, New York City’s leading nonprofit provider of home-delivered medically tailored meals. While there, she led the agency’s government affairs strategy on the city, state, and federal levels. Her efforts led to multiple capital funding awards from the City Council, and a year over year increase in City Council discretionary funding. In Albany and Washington, D.C., Camila championed legislation within Medicaid and Medcare alongside the Food Is Medicine Coalition, the national body of nonprofit food is medicine providers in the United States. Camila also co-chaired the Policy Committee within the Food is Medicine Coalition, helping to build a national framework for food is medicine related legislation.
As a result of her work within God’s Love We Deliver, she held a seat on the Public Policy Council of AIDS United, a national organization dedicated to the mission of ending the HIV epidemic in the United States. She also currently serves on the New York City HIV Planning Council. The Planning Council is a community group appointed by the Mayor of New York City to plan the organization and delivery of HIV services across the city funded by Part A of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act.
With a passion for public service, Camila’s career has spanned across the fields of elections and campaign management, constituent services, and educational access. In 2024, Camila was selected as a fellow for the Fellowship for Emerging Leaders in Public Service through NYU Wagner. She was also a member of the inaugural cohort of the John Robert Lewis Scholars and Fellows Program through the Faith and Politics Intitute. She holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Theology, and a Master’s degree in Ethics and Society from Fordham University.
Camila was named in the 2025 class of Hunter College’s New York City Food Policy Center’s 40 Under 40: The Rising Stars in NYC Food Policy
